Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit Nurses, or CVICU RNs, provide critical care to patients with potentially life-threatening heart conditions in a hospital setting.
Cardio ICU Registered Nurses observe changes in their patients, document histories and symptoms, perform diagnostic testing, analyze charts and test results, change bandages, and communicate effectively with doctors and health care professionals.
CVICU Nurses administer medication and treatment under the supervision of a physician.
Cardiovascular ICU Registered Nurses also educate patients and families for home-care treatment and how to manage the illness or injury.
