(PRN) Registered Nurses- OB/GYN
to provide services at the
Naval Medical Center- Portsmouth, VA
.
The Ideal Registered Nurse (OB/GYN) will:
Perform a full range of RN duties in accordance with assignment including: triage; patient assessment and monitoring; use of patient monitoring and treatment equipment; appropriate nursing care, procedures, and treatments; execution of physicians' orders within the guidelines of standard nursing practice; documentation of patient care and observations; and patient education and emotional support.
Provide professional nursing care to patients within assigned unit/clinic in a knowledgeable, skillful, consistent, and continuous manner through the application of the nursing process in compliance with the command and professional standards of care.
Provide physical and psychological support to patients and significant others, explain procedures and promote cooperation among staff, patients and significant others.
Implement care in a knowledgeable skillful, consistent and continuous manner.
The Ideal Registered Nurse (OB/GYN) will Receive:

The Ideal Registered Nurse (OB/GYN) Candidate will:
Either have education from the following: (a) a bachelor's degree in Nursing; or (b) a diploma graduate in Nursing; or (c) an associate degree in Nursing from a National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) accredited program.
Possess current unrestricted license to practice as a registered nurse in one of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, or the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Possess a minimum of 1 year of experience as a RN working in a women's health or ambulatory care setting within the last two years.
Possess a current BLS from American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
Be a U.S. Citizen.
